The CarerWell project is an online program developed for people who are caring for a person with brain cancer.
Overview
The CarerWell project represents an innovative online program tailored to individuals who find themselves in the role of caregivers for loved ones battling brain cancer. This comprehensive program can be accessed through both a dedicated website and a user-friendly native mobile application. Conceived and developed by a collaborative effort involving mental health experts and researchers from the University of Newcastle and the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI), with the support of an Innovation Grant from the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF).
The initiative was started from a deep commitment to the well-being of those who selflessly care for individuals with brain cancer. The project provides caregivers with a powerful resource at their fingertips, designed to provide them with essential tools, guidance, and support in their challenging journey. The program encompasses a wide array of features and resources aimed at addressing the unique needs of caregivers, facilitating improved mental health, resilience, and overall well-being. This project is a demonstration of the synergy between academic expertise, research, and philanthropic support, all working together to improve the quality of care provided to individuals battling brain cancer.
